Staplehurst Cllrs John Perry and Paddy Riordan have been working hard to move Staplehurst one step closer to achieving the installation of a 3G pitch.

Agreement has now been reached with the local football clubs and the FA which is fantastic news.

The 3G all-sports pitch project at the Jubilee Field Staplehurst started about eight years ago when concerns were raised that the grass pitches at the Jubilee field were not fit to play on for large parts of the season.

Fast forward several years and significant effort by the Parish Council and especially Cllrs Perry and Riordan and others has resulted in nearly £1million of external funding being earmarked for the project, with the Parish Council setting aside £30,000 towards the project.

A consultation is underway over the summer and a public meeting will be arranged for the Autumn to make sure that all residents can have their say.
