Cllr Val Springett joined Helen Whately MP and other local representatives in supporting a petition calling for the Government to reconsider housing targets affecting the local area.
The campaign attracted almost 7,000 signatures before being presented at Downing Street. Supporters of the petition have raised concerns about the potential impact of future development on infrastructure, public services and the countryside.
Representing Bearsted and Downswood since 2011, Cllr Springett has long been involved in planning and development issues and supported efforts to ensure residents’ views were reflected as part of the campaign.
